Re: Climatology

I can load without errors climatology_pi-1.5.5.3-aarch64_flatpak-22.08.tar.gz onto RPi 4 running Bullseye and Flatpak-22.08 but it does not appear listed in the plugins browser after loading it.

Unfortunately I have no idea what to make of this. I've been advised that climatology_pi 1.5.5.3 for aarch64 flatpak is working. Are you running OpenCPN v 5.8.2? ... I don't think so, perhaps you can advise? -- Of course you are running OpenCPN flatpak 22.08, what was I thinking....

Humm. Have you used "Import Plugins"? Then Installed 1.5.5.3 and then Enabled? what do you mean 'loading"?

Please inspect your log file and do a search on "climatology" reading the messages... Then attach a cut down log file of the errors.

What I mean is that the Climatology plugin after having imported it does not show in the list of plugins. Not even greyed out.

These are some screen caps.

Where do I find the log?

Re: Climatology

Ok, perhaps it does not work with RPI, lets see what the log says. The log is found under Toolbar > ? see the links for ini/confg and log? For more information see the wiki manual.

Re: Climatology

Thanks Dave! Any chance you could try one of the debian-bookworm climatology 1.5.5.3 below?

I know github has been active and you've been busy.

Here are the log and conf files. I look through but I can't understand what's being shown. I can see an instance where the Climatology plugin is being loaded but I see no errors reported in the log. May be you can look through the files and make sense of what's going on.

Just to reiterate my system is an RPi 4 with Bullseye and Flatpak 22.08. OpenCPN 5.8.2.

BTW yesterday I tried to use the VDR plugin which installs without problems but it recorded zero data after pressing record and saving the file during 3 hours of navigation.

Looking at the above, what is the path to your plugins? Where is libvdr_pi.s0?
Do you also see libclimatology_pi.so? Probably not, ..you have not installed it!!!!

Read the manual, about installing and enabling plugins, follow instructions step by step.

Re: Climatology

Regarding VDR_pi
The confg file shows under [Plugins]
Quote:
[PlugIns/libvdr_pi.so]
bEnabled=1
[PlugIns/VDR]
InputFilename=
OutputFilename=/home/pi/Documents/Record/record.txt
Interval=1

So it is installed. The output filename is under your documents/record/record.txt.
Have you looked at that file? Also you should use the wiki manual to read the VDR Manual under "Plugins" You know where the manual is located. If not go to OpenCPN.org and find it.

I have followed the instructions of the plugin. The file record.txt is the one I created to record the data. After using the plugin for a few hours (start recording, selecting the recording file and stop reconrding) the file is empty.

I am following the instructions for installing and enabling plugins. I couldn't enable Climatology because it did not show on the list of available plugins even after I had imported it manually from the file in the repository without any errors during the import.

But I just did it again and it now shows in the list of plugins and I can install it. Finally! Although the preferences button is greyed out after installation.

Thank you for your patience.

We still need some verification test for the Debian 12 Bookworm builds.

Hi Rick,

tested the plugin on my rpi4 running Debian Bookworm 12. OpenCPN Flatpak (latest from Leamas) and and the plugin works.

We will do some further test. But flatpak applicaties are universal. So it must work on my other RPI4 Os's.

Regards,

Bram

Re: Climatology

Version 1.5.5.0
Windows 11 display resolution 3072x1920, scale 225%

OpenCPN 5.8.2

The number date field (to the right of the month) is too small.

Such an awesome plugin. Thank you.

Re: Climatology

Hi Sean,
Can you please clarify how the date works for cyclones. If you choose a month and a day in the Display Control window, how does it relate to the Display Spanning entry in the Configuration window? Is it # of days AFTER the date?
Thanks,
Bruce
