Compile troubles w/ 3.1.919

I have been attempting compile tip but am coming unstuck with a wxWidgets class reference:

OpenCPN is ver 3.1.919 (tip)
wxWidgets is 2.9.3 (have also tried 2.8.something, and 2.9.4)

platform is OSX Lion/code 4.4.1

and I have been following the guidance at Compiling - Mac OS X | Official OpenCPN Homepage and in the INSTALL file in the source directory.

Any help would be warmly appreciated.

I want to make some changes to help My 70yr old father skipper see some details more easily, also get the route manager working better with the Garmin 126,128.

Other ideas:
* real time proximity and depth checking when planning routes.
* batch waypoint rename to rename all the waypoints in a route
