Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I've read many of these posts and the manual and installed DashboardTactics from the ocpn plugin catalog but still can't figure out where is Race Start ? I'm running Rpi4, Debian 11 Bullseye, ocpn 5.8.4 and DashboardTactics 1.7.61.

I've read this https://dashboard-tactics-pi.readthe...tallation.html which talks about DashT, is this the same as DashboardTactics? I'm thinking not so maybe I need to install this instead and get it from github?

I started following this installation guide https://dashboard-tactics-pi.readthe...tallation.html DashT Linux (deb) package whcih mentions version dashboard_tactics_pi_1.99.102-ov52-1_amd64.deb but being a github noob I'm not sure how to download this and if it's the latest version so any pointers would be useful as the more I read the more confused I'm getting.

Jeremy, try building the code for your OS using the master branch here.

This branch has all the bells and whistles but is highly particularized, uses webview and you may find it does not compile for your OS. Petri left us with a good working version below and continued on developing it (well ahead of OS software support at the time) so you'd better know how to code workarounds if you are going to compile this branch.



The version that we distribute is an earlier release version which is in the mnt151-frontend2 branch.

Hi,

I can install the plugin version 1.7.61.0 from master catalog on Android but it forces an error message and the pi is uninstalled. Then the openCPN app crashes.

The logfile:

Thanks RGLEASON for the update, I can't figure out how to actually compile?build?make? the software package...I know my way around linux but have never actually compiled anything from github so excuse the noob questions, this is what I did.

1. downloaded a zip of the source files dashboard_tactics_pi-master.zip fom https://github.com/rgleason/dashboar...pi/tree/master to my pi

the docs mention this command but the .deb file is not in the downloaded zip -
sudo gdebi dashboard_tactics_pi_1.99.102-ov52-1_amd64.deb

There are these instructions at the bottom of the installation guide which looks promising so I've installed cmake however there's no build directory and I'm not sure how to run it...

Debian/Linux style build
cd build
cmake ..
make
make package
sudo gdebi packagename-version-etc.deb

the directory contents looks like this
~/Downloads/dashboard_tactics_pi-master $ ls
appveyor.yml cmake data instrujs LICENSE opencpn.lib README.md src VERSION.cmake
bld.bat CMakeLists.txt docs libs manual po SECURITY.md tests
