Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I run 1.511 on O5.1.56RC on a Mac Mini with the latest Catalina. Works great!

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I haven’t built D_T 2.0 yet. I don’t remember why. Perhaps it didn’t have the Mac CMake parts in it.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I think I might be able to fork (v1.5.111) and make the changes perhaps with some help from Jon and Petri.

If we do v2.0, it will only be for gtk3 builds.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I just looked and there is an installer for 2.00.4 (?) and it works just fine on the Mac. I prefer it in the plugin manager, as that is so much easier and everything is in the same centralized place.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Was on the boat last week, and tried to install the "dashboard tactics" but failed: Also for RPI, the packages are not found in the opencpn repository.

What is the actual status of the development? Is is truly released, or still very much beta?

PS: As a mechanical engineer I do not relish wading kneedeep through uninteligable software jargon. I have my own, thank you very much. This sentence above is about the max I can master.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Wow. Succeeded installing with gdebi.

However. The sluggishness with wind history stays. Ah well.

The new recording option is nice though.

It should not be sluggish, Petri did a lot of testing and improvements to wind history, including making the max history duration longer. If there is sluggish wind history, something is wrong I think.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

As long as the "wind history" screen is visible, the entire RPi is slowed down. When the screen is hidden, there is no problem. Not problematic. An RPi, even a 4, is not a very fast computer. Actually that's what I started the project for: Power consumption.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Ok, I agree, it is a low memory issue probably. It is rpi, I did not realize that.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I've managed to build dashboard-tactics_pi with Plugin Manager frontend2 locally and to run it in Windows with O5.2.
https://github.com/rgleason/dashboar...tree/frontend2
Circleci will be building 12 environments hopefullly and deploy to the plugins cloudsmith repository here
https://cloudsmith.io/~opencpn/repos...beta/packages/

If this builds, perhaps beta testers can download the appropriate tarball and install and test using "Import Plugin" in Options > Plugins

and report here what you find. Thank you

Later, its building but not deploying. I have to change the CS repository name to without a dash.... later today.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Sum Log does not work in Dashboard tactics, however it does work in dashboard.

Sum log did not work in dashboard on 4.8.8, so I assume there was a fix applied to dashboard between then and now, that did not make it to dashboard tactics.
