Data on the dashboard after an interruption of the connection

I noticed that data remains displayed (position, depth, etc.) even if the data connection nmea is interrupted.

This can cause problems, especially the depth when sailing in coastal.
Would it be possible, in case of interruption of flows nmea, that * all * the data displayed on the dashboard disappear. This is in my opinion the best way to know that there is a problem.

If there is an interest in keeping some information displayed despite a failure, it would be good if this display automatically change color or - better ? - starts to flash.

This is all possible. The watchdog plugin can trigger an alarm if you like.

Thank you for that answer.
I will study more closely this plugin (watchdog) but it might be interesting if the blinking or erasure of data are integrated directly into the dashboard in case of connection loss.

Re: Data on the dashboard after an interruption of the connection

This is a separate issue of dashboard.

The watchdog plugin might be useful to play an audible alarm, or execute an arbitrary command

Please report this on Tracker opencpn.org and look at upper right. You will need to register and then login, then select the pi - Dashboard project from the dropdown and then say it is a feature request. Thanks.

Indeed, *clearly visible* question marks would be a solution ...
