Default Sym Value in GPX Files

Hello-

First post here...

Wonderful product OpenCPN - I managed to download and install all the reefs / wrecks for my area - but I'm a little confused.

In creating the GPX file - apparently I have to define a sym (symbol) so opencpm will show a graphical element where the lat lon coordinates are.

Is there a default value that can be used in GPX files that will work across all GPS units?
