Description of the icon not shown

Hello To everybody,
I have Opencpn 5.2 (I had same problem with 5.0) and Xubuntu
I refer to the vertical menu, in the left side that it is expanded when you point it with the mouse.
The problem is that when I go with the mouse over the icon, its description do not appear, just a line on the right side of the icon.

Hello Massimo,

I am running O 5.2 and i have been through all icons (plugin icon too), no problem with the explanation text.

Can you post a screenshot?, what is the name of the icon ?

here attached the screenshot.
as said when I point with the mouse on the icons on the vertical menu, on left side, the first time appears the explanation (e.g.: options, for the first icon from the top) and then for all the others attempts nothing, just a line on the right side of the icon, but without descritpion

I double check again today and the problem remains; when the First time the mouse is over the icons, the description is shown, from the second ahead nothing.

I thought it might be a 20.04 issue, but it's not. I fired up a laptop with x-ubuntu(18.04) and the xfce desktop environment and I can replicate your problem.
It is a specific X-Ubuntu problem of some sort, as I don't have the problem if using Ubuntu or Lubuntu on the same laptop. I doubt that you can expect any O-developer digging into the little used X-ubuntu to find the problem.

My recommendation would be to change to Lubuntu, or possibly try with another desktop manager, instead of xfce on Xubuntu.
Google/or similar is your friend!

On my X-ubuntu I can chose between different sessions, when I come to the screen where I write the psw. To the left of the "Sign in" box there is a "Wheel" shaped icon. Click it for your options.

Just for your info, I have the same problem on 5.0 and 5.2, have had it ever since the menu system changed.
Are running a minimal version of Ubuntu Server 16.04 so it is not related to 20.4.
