Does the findit plugin work in the 4.8 Linux release?

I just installed opencpn ver 4.8 on my Lenovo Thinkpad T60P. I tried to install Findit and got the following message:

opencpn-plugin-findit:
Depends: libwxbase2.8-0 (>=2.8.12.1+dfsg2) but it is not installable
Depends: libwxgtk2.8-0 (>=2.8.12.1+dfsg2) but it is not installable
Depends: wx2.8-i18n but it is not installable

I'm using Linux Mint Mate 18.1.

Any thoughts?

The package you try to install is not compatible with Mint 18, which takes us to: Which package you tried to install?
The latest available, for Ubuntu Wily (I suppose you use the 64bit version of Mint), should still be compatible with both OpenCPN 4.8 and your system.
