Here https://julkinen.liikennevirasto.fi/oskari/ you can compose your charts from various informations, arranging layers to suit your needs (including soundings!) and then, you can download - you will be sent a link by mail where your download is waiting for you.


Great dream Quality service! And it works! And it is free!



Albeit - according to the information on the site, the information is provided in Shape (.shp) format. The files that were downloaded end with .cst, .dbf, .prj, .shp and .shx .


As everything is possible today, I tried the internet for converting .shp to s57 and found a site that offers this at a service, albeit at a price.



Does anyone have a way forward how I can convert these files to use them in open CPN? Or did I do something fundamentally wrong?
