Re: AIS nuisance alarms when target is on parallel course

Mt first Visit to the forum and the topic i am looking for is top of the list . My suggestion is an option on AIS and Anchor alerts to delay alarms for a user defined period. I use anchor watch a lot, occasionally my gps will briefly loose its fix instantly triggering an alarm, by the time i have lept out of bed the fix is back and alarm stopped. An option to delay an alarm by say 30 seconds when an alarm situation arises would solve this and the CPA alert problem when sailing in big seas with a constantly changing heading.

I believe that request is listed on Tracker. You'll have to find it, register and then login and vote for it!
Here is a filtered list of all Tracker items with AIS to help.
Register for tracker from the top menu on opencpn.org

Re: Feature Requests

I have been trying to change the bitmap ship in Android following the instructions
without success. Could someone tell me how to replace it with my ownship? In a PC it was easy to do, but not so in Android.
Thanks.

Re: Feature Requests

I could not find the ownship icon… where is it located?

I also tried to create the folder UserIcons (…\Android\data\org.opencpn.opencpn_free\files\Use rIcons) and the Android app does not use it… Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Are you using the free version as it implied above?

If you used a catamaran icon would you mind sharing it?

I was using the free version at first, then bought the full version. I still can't get my ownship.png working properly, if at all . I have attached the file I want to use.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Feature Requests

P_dub, it is not as simple as I thought. ownship png is on a big giant single png with lots of other images.

Look at C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenCPN 4.8.4\uidata toolicons_traditional.png ownship is in there.

For Android the path is something like

This PC\SCH-I545-Ned\Card\Android\data\org.opencpn.opencpn\files\ui data

You'll need to paste the icon into that bigger image file.

Re: Feature Requests

For some reason I thought you could load your own shiip Icon in Options >Ships > Ownship "Ship Icon Type" but you can set real world raster and vector ships there.

Would that help? Otherwise you'll have to replace the ownship.png file in that giant image file.

Re: Feature Requests

Well that Don't work either. someone must have alter the way of setting it was easy in the PC version; but it is not in Android. Did you succeeded to do it on your system?

Mr rglesaon------
The ship shape should go in:-
X86
ProgramData
opencpn
Usericons

(same as plugins and opencpn.ini)
