Don't think this is going to happen. Discussion about this a year or so ago and it came down to a conflict between Active Captain being a for profit business and OpenCPN being a free program. I believe Active Captain vetoed the idea.

Ah. OK. Pity about that.

Thanks for the info

Agree. I look at Active Captain pretty often and I'm not even cruising (at the moment).

Re: Feature Requests

I still have my fingers crossed. Maybe enough of us could send Active Captain a donation to get them to reconsidder....
I have contemplated NUNO Navigator but hate to have 2 separate programs...

Hold your cursor over the course line for pop up.

Re: Feature Requests

If you hover over the leg, the popup with show:
Route Name
Route total length
Leg Waypoints
Leg Direction
Leg Length

At present there is no option in settings to show the information on the leg as aligned text.

thank you and jackdale for trying to help. i know for that.
i thought to have it in option settings, to be permanently on the chart (if i wish). same going to mesure(range)/bearing line that i can move it around if i wont. something like this.

for me it is more important for REAL chart plotter software to have this future then wasteing time and resources developing something for suse, use penise rozeberry strowbwrryes blackberiess that will probably use 0.000001% people.

software "with no frils", how they say in UK, something simple but effective.

I agree; it would be a great addition.

As an instructor I use screen captures from O and then have to add the course, speed, bearing labels after the fact with a photo editor or with the text function of power point.

On board that information would provide an additional dimension. Although I suspect those of you brought up on paper charts would use it more often.

Re: Feature Requests

While we are talking about screen captures, qtVlm has a File > Snapshot feature that saves a snapshot, initiates saving a png file with user defined name to a selected directory. That might be very useful for documentation, such that Printscreen and Cntrl-Printscreen plus loading and pasting into GIMP is not needed.

Re: Feature Requests

Hi Gents
I don not know if my requets makes senses in this thread but very often for a short cruise I do not bring the PC on board and I whould like to interface my Raymarine and Geonav GPS using the CF Navionics card. Is this possible to get such interface, read and write routes, tracks and Wps in the Navionics format ?
Have good navigations and sweet weather.
Best regards to all
Alain

Re: Feature Requests

Is there a static GPS heading feature? I know on larger vessels, one can use 2 GPS receivers spaced widely apart to develop a heading. This technique requires no vessel movement, and a relatively low performance GPS unit can be used because the ionospheric based error is essentially identical between the two antenna- or so I was told by Trimble. The minimum spacing is on the order of 30 feet.

It would be interesting to see if this worked with two receivers like the BU-353. Is there any interest other than my own?
