GPS Connection fail after HD upgrade / Linux Mint

Hi,
I’ve installed with success Open CPN on an AAEON monoboard with Linux Mint XFCE. Doing so, I used a Mouse USB GPS, that was recognized on port USB0.
My Open CPN plotter was working good, and happy with that.
Then, I upgraded the computer with a 256G Hard Drive, as the 30G factory HD would show very quickly its limitations for the use. Partitions has been made properly, giving a wide 50G for Mint XFCE, that have been completely reinstalled on the occasion.
Since then, my computer does not recognize any more the GPS Port.
When asking for the command « lsusb », the GPS appears as

« Bus 001 Device 009: ID 10c4:ea60 Silicon Labs CP210x UART Bridge ».
But when asking « ls / dev/ tty*, USB port for GPS does not appear any more.
Of course, tried the different connections, no changes.
Then I tried my Mouse GPS on my Lap Top (same Linux distribution), and asking ls / dev/ tty*, my GPS do appear with USB0.
Here am I, would anyone have a clue about what’s going wrong ?
Many thanks for the community support,
Barrosa.

Re: GPS Connection fail after HD upgrade / Linux Mint

Hi again,
follwing some GPSD recommendations for trouble shooting, I've made a control commande with "dmesg", and found the following:

[ 8.397435] usb 1-4.3: usbfs: interface 0 claimed by cp210x while 'brltty' sets config #1
[ 8.401632] cp210x ttyUSB0: cp210x converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
[ 8.401778] cp210x 1-4.3:1.0: device disconnected

cp210x being my GPS, I guess it is disconnected by the conflict with "brltty".

I don't know how to handle this, any help ????

Do you need the braille driver? If not, just do what https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...ccessful-probe suggests, remove it.

If you need it, then https://github.com/juliagoda/CH341SER/issues/18 will be a more proper solution.
