HALO20+ Cannot bind UDP

I had a working installation for previous year on present computer using jp45 to usb adapter. Mid last year Halo20+ quit working.

MAC Big Sur laptop shows good network connection.
Radar ver 5.5.0 plugin.
On initialization OpenCPN 5.8.4 throws,

"Cannot scan interface
Cannot bind UDP socket toi port 6878

RequiredOpencpn option"

Is anyone familiar with this problem?

Re: HALO20+ Cannot bind UDP

The plugin attaches to all network adapters and the error message you show is innocent if it doesn’t mention the IP address of the USB Ethernet adapter.

Is there a DHCP server on that network that the radar and laptop are on? If not try setting the adapter to a fixed IP address in a private range that is not used on board (eg separate from any WiFi.) for instance 10.250.20.20 netmask 255.255.255.0

Then if it still doesn’t work increase the verbose level on the logfile so it includes “receive” (see logfile for which number to add to the verbose level) then upload logfile once you verify it has verbose content.
