Re: Has anyone managed to get hardware supported OpenGL on Rasperry Pi2 to work?

Thanks for that! I'll try in the next days. In meantime, I had just taken out the dri2 out of the cmakefile; it compiled without any problems than. GL Rendering did not work (looked better at the beginning than on my last trys, but changed to something false color stuff soon. At least, it was no problem to end the program).

Opencpn works pretty fast on PI2 (Last year, I had it on a Pi 1 on a one mounth trip - so I can easily be impressed by 6 -10 Frames / Second)

Re: Has anyone managed to get hardware supported OpenGL on Rasperry Pi2 to work?

Hi,

The Latest Version 4.1.1602, wich compiled well with mattkab's recipe: Does this working with hardware GL? I just tried, and get a blinking screen: One pic looks pretty normal, next pic with false colors. Is this the current state 'as it is', or is there something I missed to configure correctly?

Install new open cpn, for some reason it can't see cm93. Like my GE2KAP pictures.

I know how to make opencpn run with hardware acceleration on the rpi, but it needs a special hack.

If someone can send me a rpi2 and hdmi display, I can implement it.

If you know something to help these people why not tell them?

I have both an RPI2 and an RPIB+ I can send to you. Consider it my donation to the OpenCPN project.

Please PM me an address to send it to.

Since he's out in Asia somewhere, if the shipping is much at all, let me know and I'll pitch in.

The hack needed has to copy the off-screen hardware accelerated buffer to an x window for each frame, so there is an extra memory copy needed but this won't slow things down too much.

Anyone can implement it, but I know I can do it and I am again hurting for hardware and have little money.
