Re: Heading Not Correct

Hi every one,

The problem was that i have a loop in the seatalk converter.
I have coupled the nmea in and out with my pc that gives a loop from the HDG only other instruments have no problem with this connection.
And i was wrong width the angle of the heading, when i start the instruments then that angle stay and change not any more.
Now is the next problem that i can not give a course from my pc to my pilot because i have uncoupled the NMEA in in the seatalk converter.
How can solved this problem?

Re: Heading Not Correct

Patrick, I had same problem , I solved going to my userCP (user control panel, upper menu on the left) then in Networking there is something called "Pictures and Album", create an "Album", upload pictures (there is a limit in size), then post the picture referenced there, copying the BB code under the picture, quite easy. regards. alex

Re: Heading Not Correct

Alex,

I know there is no nmea back to the AP i disconnect it from the direct seatalk interface "NMEA in" and the Shipmodul "nmea out" because that gives a loop and the hdg stops width the first reading. now is the question how must i connect it?
there is a nmea in and out in the course computer from raymarine maybe with those connections?

Re: Heading Not Correct

you should use RS232 out , not nmea out from the raymarine nmea box.
then you should connect nmea in on this box to one nmea out from the ShipModul.
if you dont want to use the box for this, take it direct to the course computer nmea in connector. yes, there is one nmea in, one nmea out in the course computer, there is also a nmea in the ST6001 display unit.

Re: Heading Not Correct

Alex ,
If i understands this : i must connect the rs232 to the shipmodul nmea in is that correct?
and make the old connection from the shipmodul nmea out to the seatalk interface "NMEA in" is this also correct?

many thanks for the reply.

Yes, this is what I would do if I was called to make this work. one more thing, in this configuration there is no possibility of a "seatalk loop". unless there is something going wrong somewhere that you cant see . good luck. alex

Re: Heading Not Correct

I am looking at the Miniplex 41 manual. it looks as you should use configuration 2 to send nmea out directly to the AP, but I havent read thoroughly, just take a look at page 5/6 from the manual and verify if you have this correct.

Re: Heading Not Correct

fine, the driver part of the Miniplex and the Miniplex itself I havent seen or installed any, but a look at the manual always can provide answers. Let us know if it worked. good luck. alex
