What viewer do you use?

I found a link to Vizaweb which is an online viewer, but now I have lost it.

just enter the username (vizaweb) and password (Bewaziv16) noted above, and you are in

Grib2: no, I haven't found a viewer to read these Canadian grib2 files

Re: Help / FAQ

Dear All.

I'm not a sailor, just a computer hobiest.
I just start playing with OpenCPN.

First I read an try : https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...downloader_tab
It works as expected.

Next I read https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...l_installation
I download a zip chart from: https://www.pushidrosal.id/buletin/50/peta-elektronik/
I think it's generated from arcGis.

From extracted zip files, now my chart directory looks like (only part of it):
----------------------------
/home/bino/Documents/encsrc/ENC_ROOT/CATALOG.031
/home/bino/Documents/encsrc/ENC_ROOT/ENC_ROOT.bat

/home/bino/Documents/encsrc/ENC_ROOT/ID/ID100066/ID100066.exe
-----------------------------

Can I use this files?
the 'bat' files is a binary file not like standard dos bat file.
also there is *.scr and *.pif file in others directory.

If so, How to arrange the files?
I tried to just use/add '/home/bino/Documents/encsrc/ENC_ROOT' as chart directory in setting, but opencpn show nothing.

I also tried to remove all *.bat, *.exe, *.scr, *.pif .. still got nothing.

My opencpn version is 5.5.1118

Sincerely
-bino-

Have look at the OpenCPN logfile. It will tell you much about chart loading.

Dear Sir.

I really appreciate your fast response.

I'm delete the directory from the list, and reload it while watching the log file.

For each map sub directory, it say the same thing like :

Code:

Is it mean they are encrypted S57 (S63)?

Re: Help / FAQ

As you are downloading from the official Indonesian Hydrographic Office, we would think that those are S-63 sets.

So you would need a S-63 UserPermit and the the corresponding cell permits in order to see the charts in OpenCPN using the S-63 plug-in.

Ooopps ....
I didn't realize it.

I just think that if they made itu public available ... it means we don't need any additional permit to use it.

Thankyou for your help.
I'll try to talk to them.

Bino...

we did send a mail as well in order to ask how to make the charts available for OpenCPN via o-charts.
If you talk to the Office, you might refer to our questions as well.

Good luck!

I read it.
YOur letter is written with a super good manner and yet informative.

I'll first learn about o-chart to know it better and hope I can give them better understanding to make the chart freely available to public.

Sincerely

one of our learning from the past dealing with Hydrograhic Offices that very often local, personal contact is very important to get a process in the right direction - that one finds a person listening to you.

If you like, just drop us a mail at info at o-charts.org and we can discuss how to proceed.

Re: Help / FAQ

Have been using an older version of OpenCPN for a few years but recently got a new laptop running Windows 11, and downloaded latest version of Open CPN 5.6.0. Copied all my old charts across (derived via Sat2Chart and SASPlanet) but each time I reopen OpenCPN all my charts in the Chart Bar display the "X" indicating they have been "excluded from Quilting". Is there a fix to ensure they all are all "included in quilting" (ie no "X" displayed) each time the program is reopened?
Thanks.

Re: Help / FAQ

Tuddy, I'm afraid that's my fault. I make really big mbTiles, like 5GB for a single file, & I typically load up 5 (ArcGIS, Bing, GE, CMap, & Navionics) that are close to that size, all at the same time. Having them all wake up ON was taking a significant amount of time at startup, so I asked that they default to OFF in v5.2, like KAPs do. This request got enough Yes votes that the devs accepted it.

On the plus side, they also improved performance for mbTiles considerably in these later versions. And actually, for overlapping mbTiles to default to ON can make a hash of the display, since they can come up in different orders, & their order is what determines which will show.

Still, the solution for both of us is probably to make it a set-able option, probably in the User Interface tab. I know there are others who like them to default to ON, as I received some flak for my request, so you'd probably get others to vote for this as well.

What I'd like is for the mbTiles "piano-keys" to work the same way as they do for other chart types. That is, what you click is what you get, instead of the silly click-to-turn-on, click-to-turn-off model that we've had to deal with since OpenCPN first learned how to work with mbTiles. I think this was because mbTiles can have transparent sections that let other charts show through, but I don't think that's very common. Certainly SAS/Sat2Chart can't produce transparent sections. Again, this should probably be an option somewhere on the User Interface tab.

Re: Help / FAQ
