Re: Help / FAQ

Ivanm...
No. But if you set it to represent the real size of the boat (unless your boat is a supertanker) in Toolbox -> Ships -> Own Ship, it can hardly cover anything important.

Re: Help / FAQ

Well, I'm not the Ubuntu expert, but what should work:

open a console, navigate to the directory where the fingerprinter resides and
enter there at the prompt: ./fpr02.3_L64

Btw.: this is for 64bit - for 32 bit this would be the other version and the file is named
fpr02.3_L then

Re: Help / FAQ

Ivan,

as I don't have an Ubuntu here: did you try to right-clic the file and perhaps there is an option "execute"?

Hubert & Ivanm

The file is not executable when downloaded, that's the "problem".
First do this at a command prompt.
Quote:
chmod +x fpr02.3_L64
and then
Quote:
./fpr02.3_L64
provided you're in the same directory as the fingerprint file.

You should also be able to make the file executable from the right click.
menu. Right click -> permissions tab -> tick "Allow executing this file as a program" (or similar). After this, you should be able just to click or double click the downloaded file to produce the fingerprint.

Can I change the colour scheme to suit me in the opencpn.ini file for night viewing or somewhere else?

Of course you can adapt.
The manual (take your time and study it - it is a treasure):
