How to get Opencpn v4.8.8 for Ubuntu v16.04

Opencpn v 5.0 is proving less satisfactory than v 4.8.8. Question is how do I downgrade back to v 4.8.8?

Your options seems to be very limited. I have looked around, and not found any, ready to install, package.

Your best bet is to compile your own version using the 4.8.8 source code.

Thinking a bit more....
Check the directory /var/cache/apt/archives/ on your computer.
You may have your own backup copy, if you're lucky.
