how to install a plugin?
I have not found any explanation on how to install the GE or the magnetic variation plugin once you have downloaded them.

Help appreciated.

Just place the downloaded .dll file into a plugins subfolder of your OpenCPN installation (eg. C:\Program Files\OpenCPN\plugins). The rest at About Plugins | Official OpenCPN Homepage
