How to quit properly ?

Hi,

I wish I could quit OpenCPN properly without any user interaction.
The easiest way would be to send a signal to the process using the "kill" command from a user script, which would be launched when I unplug my (battery powered) Raspberry Pi ...

Is it possible to send a kill signal which would make OpenCPN quit nicely ?
I mean without this annoying popup on next startup ?

Maybe OpenCPN could listen to some signals and proceed with a normal smooth exit on reception, like SIGUSR1 or SIGUSR2 .. or maybe it could detect SIGPWR when I run out of battery ?

Thanks for your help
