The Program has some bugs when moving the charts with the mouse, it starts blurring, but if switching of charts, say from S57 to BSB raster it becomes OK.
This does not append with CM93.
Otherwise the 4.6.1 ed. is OK.
Windows 10 Pro, Video Card updated and force to the program.
Accelerated graphic on or off.
Best Regards
Does this change anything:
Code:
OpenGLExpert=1
UseAcceleratedPanning=0
?

P_Dub...

Screenshots would be useful. Have not had any other reports of this problem, so it won't be fixed unless we learn more.

Thanks
Dave

A little history.

The "space-bar-drop-waypoint" function was removed because in at least one case it seemed "impossible to train crew" NOT to use the spacebar to wake a sleeping laptop. Every time someone woke the machine to look at the chart, guess what happened? A string of waypoints across the Atlantic.

So, there are different use cases, always.

All that said, putting this function back as a hidden config setting, (default OFF) is trivial, and I see no reason not to do that. But I would resist adding another checkbox to the already cumbersome settings UI for this function.

Just sayin...

Hello everyone who has responded so far. Thank you for your responses.

If the OpenCPN team plans to reintroduce the feature into the next build that is excellent. Even a config file modification would be very good.

Since the impetus for doing so is likely due to my pestering I would like to make a monetary contribution for the effort. Should I do that as a regular contribution to the general project or as some kind of line item payment like a fee? Either way is fine with me.

I am happy to pay to have the option back for my use and for anyone else who uses OpenCPN.

The feature you requested is now implemented and will be available to all in the next release. For my part I do not want any payment. The development is a voluntary effort. Any OpenCPN user is welcome to donate through the donate button on the About box in the program. Click the toolbar button that looks like a book with the question mark. Or there is a donate button at the bottom of the https://opencpn.org home page.
