Re: InlandECDIS 2.3, a feature request

Dave,
OK fine. The overruling startup in dusk mode with Standard layers I did as a simple if [iENC] then in te config reading of these values in the navutil.cpp. This could be ammended with hiding a few buttons (AIS hide btn force to all, hide scale up/down btn's, hide create route btn, hide tides and currents btn's, hide route manager btn, and hide tracking btn.)
At writing the config the above values should not be written to file. (So the 'original' values remain in the configfile)
At checking or unchecking the checkbox a reread of the configfile should be done. (for an instant adoption of new settings).

above could be done by me.

remains\ing:
Add button(s) for direct switch to standard.
Add/change keyboard shortcuts for above.
Check if inland-standard is the same set of layers as sea-standard.

Am I forgetting something?
Dirk

Dirk...

OK, thanks.
Yes, by all means carry on with the config file startup stuff. I'll take your Pulls against iENC branch.

Single key switch to STANDARD mode:
Trivial to implement. Hard part is deciding on which key to use...

We'll take suggestions....

Thanks
Dave

Shortcut: What about "B" like Basic (what is not the same as Standard, I know), as "S" is already there for Soundings?
Perhaps adding a button to the Tool Bar.

(And if you are already with the shortcuts: what about a "K" to toggle TracK?)

re: "Shortcut: What about "B" like Basic"
What about toggle "B" for switch between "Basic" and "Standard".
That needs some info "where I'm". => A short info popup for each toggling key press.

Info popup's are probably hard to make common for all OS and not supported in wxWidget I suppose.. Win10's small note coming in from the right and quickly disappears is nice but not common in OS's.
What about a short "mouse over" box saying "Base" / "Standard". But that will fail if the mouse pointer is not within OCPN's area I suppose? Something similar to the Chartfile:... info?

Re: InlandECDIS 2.3, a feature request

As the inlandECDIS charts do not have depth information, we could also simple use the "S" for Standard in iENC mode.

btw
I just found out that inlandECDIS is already compulsory (since jan.) on the inland waterways of Germany for vessels over 20m.

But on the other hand can e.g. CM93 be quilted together with iENC charts in near coast locations and thus disturb each others use of "S".
