Question Inputting Lat & Long

I just installed Open CPN on my computer and so far, think it will be useful to me. A friend gave me a list of Latitude/ Longitude for a route he uses .

Is there a way that I can input each Latitude and Longitude into Open CPN and the program would place a way point at that location?

The only way I was able to come close, was to move my curers as close as I can to the location. Is there a better way?
Thanks
Bob

Re: Inputting Lat & Long

After doing that, right click on a waypoint and you can change the lat/long. The original location doesn't even need to be close.

Note that you can set up the format of Lat Lon (e. g., DMS, etc) you wish in settings (Display - - > Units).

If your friend also uses opencpn, he could export that route to a file and you could import it.

Re: Inputting Lat & Long

Or put the source PC and the target PC in the same network and send the routes and waypoints using the new "send to peer" tool...

Right click - Drop Mark anywhere you can see on the chart. It doesn't need to be near the desired location. Then right click on the mark and select Properties. Now you can give it a name and enter actual Lat and Lon.
