Installed opencpn on Galaxy S8, but no maps appear that I had copied onto phone

opencpn is version 4.1.102b on this phone.
And how to upgrade it?
I used my PC, and plugged in phone.
Navigated phone directory on PC
Created a boat chart folder in the main root directory.
Copied cm93 maps over into that dir.

Opened up opencpn
told it where these maps are
But the program displays none of them, just the base map.
Clicking on full database reload does nothing.

Why is it not able to use the maps?
Are these maps in the wrong place on the phone?
they are in /storage/emulated/0/Boat charts/cm93_2010 according to OpenCpn

However, they are in My Files > internal storage >Boat charts ecn cm93_2010
according to a phone app called 'My Files'

a different app called 'File Manager' they are in root > sdcard>Boat charts ecn
I dont have an sdcard in the phone.

solved issue, was a damaged folder.
