You can use your own saved tracks in My Card or save other tracks available to your My Card area in .gpx format and then download them in .gpx format for direct import to OpenCPN using the Route Manager.

See example I just downloaded from 'cpn'

dacust,
I looked at GPSBabel but didn't see a way to do this.

I don't see the My Card in the CAPN but can export tracks to .ISD, .ISN, .ISL, .ISF, .ISN files but not sure how this helps.
Thanks!

Zing and all.

I am sorry, I thought you meant 'Active Captain' for slang 'CAPN'
I realize now there is a URL by the name 'CAPN' and I will have a look.

Re: Is There a Way to Convert capn Tracks to gpx for Use in OpenCPN ?

Seems CAPN is mainly using all the normal, free NOAA charts which of course is totally compatible with OCPN: Locked charts from Softchart and Maptech can only be used as re-calibrated screenshots, but that is illegal of course.

Charts & Navigation Data Included

Entire US Included

CAPN US DVD SET includes all available Official raster and vector charts, aerial photos, and 3D bathy charts covering the US, including commercial inland waterways. Yes, they're all included in a set of 18 DVDs! All the charts you need without having to spend additional money for additional chart regions or chart types!

Vector Charts

The CAPN integrates both Official NOAA and Corps of Engineers S57-ENC (Electronic Navigational Charts) with NGA military DNC (Digital Nautical Charts) to provide you the best US coverage and detail. Smart Chart Logic makes it easy to select the best chart for every situation.

Raster Charts and Photos

The CAPN provides the best Official NOAA RNC (Raster Nautical Charts) coverage available for the US. Fully integrates SoftChart and Maptech/BSB. High resolution aerial photos provide additional detail and situational awareness.

I couldn't find anything on the CAPN site that mentions track or route formats.

I also could not find any of those extensions you list above described on any of the sites specializing in extension definitions. Well, I found a couple, but they obviously meant something else.

Try exporting a track to each format allowed, then open them with a text editor. You MIGHT find one in a format that looks like some kind of delimited text GPSBABEL formats can handle using one of the text formats, like maybe tab delimited, or something.

If you can't figure it out yourself, you might post the exports in here and see what someone comes up with.
