Kiosk Mode of Open CPN?

I was wondering if there is a way to make Open CPN work in a limited "kiosk mode". I would like to have it running on a touchscreen PC tablet but only allow panning and zooming for most users.
We run a tablet on our ship for guest use but have found that guests can too easily disable an important function and would love to figure out a way to disable access to all but the most basic viewing operations

Can you add this RFE (Request for Enhancement) to Tracker or github OpenCPN Issues?

https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/info/manuals.html (see top menu bar)

https://opencpn.org/flyspray/

https://github.com/OpenCPN/OpenCPN/issues

When you do this please provide a more complete description of what you envision. What features and functionality more precisely? Should some functionality be user selected?

Re: Kiosk Mode of Open CPN?

By right clicking on the (floating) menu bar you can hide some buttons, in your case at least the options button. Further you could make a startup script where the script first does a fresh copy from a saved config before starting O.

Not a complete 'kiosk' mode but better then nothing.
