Linking charts to Open Cpn

I am having difficulty linking my charts in my computer (using windows) to opn Cpn. Why?
I go to Options-Charts - add directory- and choose the directory the CM93 charts are stored in.
This does not link the charts.
I see they are stored as "G" files in windows.
Does this create the problem?

What is a "G" file? Can you give a full file name as an example of one of the files you have?

Obviously you have an incorrect CM93 directory. The correct CM93 directory consists of 144 subdirectories named as numbers and 6 files. In the subdirectories named as numbers you will find further subdirectories named as chars from A to Z. But you have to announce to OpenCPN the root directory and not any subdirectory or single file.

Thank you Gerhard. I have used the Cmap directory in the past on another computer in its present form. Do you know of an internet site where I can download another CMap root file of charts?

Re: Linking charts to Open Cpn

Are ALL of your files .G files? Here's what I have...

At the top level, a directory named CM93.
Under that are 100-some directories with numbers for names, 8 digits each.
Under each of those are directories with letters for names, and a .inf file.
Under each of those are files that have suffix of the directory name (.A, .B, .C, etc)

So I have .G files, but only under the G directories, and only under the directories where the letters go up to G, which not all do.

Within OpenCPN I point to the top level, CM93 directory. It figures everything out below that.

Fine, that you have understand also how CM93 works. Better when you have read my message above already.

And no, CM93 are copyright files and no one will give a link for downloading copyrighted stuff.

Thank you Gerhad.
That sounds exactly like the chart files I have. This is the link I have put in to Open Capn (along with other variations) but it still does not link the charts.

I don't know what you are talking about. What is "Open Capn" ?
This is the forum for OpenCPN here.

Attach the contents of \programdata\opencpn\opencpn.log to a post in this thread.

Since this form does not accept files with names ending in .log copy and rename the file opencpn.pdf and then we can look at the log to see if any explanation can be found.
