Loading two grib files

From documentation I see that I should be able to load two grib files (ex GFS & RTFOS) using the open file dialog. However, I cannot select two files using CTRL-leftclick. I've uninstalled and re-installed OpenCPN 4.2 with the same results. Does any one know how I can select two files in the open file dialog?

W5PAD...

Two grib files cannot be opened at the same time in OpenCPN version 4.2.

In beta test version 4.2.1706, two grib files may be opened by using ctrl+left click to highlight the file names. You should see that both names are listed on the File Name line, and each name is enclosed in double quotes. Click on the Open button or press the Enter key to open the files.

I am using Windows 10.

Re: Loading two grib files

You can combine them via the command prompt in Windows,

copy /b *.grb combined.grb

Re: Loading two grib files

Don,
Thanks, copying the files works. I just wish there was an easier and faster way than using the command prompt.

Paul,
What made me believe this feature was available is navigating to the GRIB plugin description by following these links:
Book Mark Navigation (left column from home page)
>> OpenCPN User Manual
>> TOOLBAR Buttons
>> Plugins
>> Included Plugins
>> Grib Weather
and at the bottom of this page are instructions on how to load two files. Is it wrong to believe things listed in the user manual are released features?

Perhaps that note should be clarified in the manual?

Re: Loading two grib files

I found an easy way to combine two (or more) grib files using Expedition. Load the files to be combined, then from the tools menu select extract grib, browse for location and give it a name, then load this file into opencpn.

W5PAD,
Sorry, I added User Documentation which applies to v4.2.x forward, only.
Have added a note to Grib Loading two grib files.

see bottom
Grib Weather | Official OpenCPN Homepage

for v4.2 use Capt Don suggestion. Its quite effective.
