to marchew:

Konni,
sorry to trouble you with this, but I cannot find the files I need to use for the translation on sourceforge.
Can you post a link to them please?

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi Konni,

is there a way I can change the default data format to [dd/mm/yyyy]? ( I do not like the American way [mm/dd/yyyy]...)

Also, as you can see from the screenshot, I need to adjust the columns width and perhaps the font size to get the Logbook to print properly; I think you put a description on how to do it somewhere already......??

the date-format is language-depended. if you select in OpenCPN 'Italiano',
you get the right italian format = 13/6/2012 15:55:14 (in every new appended Line)

select the ODT-Radio-button and the desired layout. Then hit the 'E'-Button, in the dialog is 'Edit Layout' preselected. Hit OK.
In OpenOffice you can adjust the column-size as usual in a Editor.
You also can overwrite the Labels (#Placeholders# starting with a 'L' e.g #LCOG#), delete unnesseary columns, set colors for Rows/Columns etc..
i've made a video with a old version of the logbook , it shows how to make a layout from the ground-up. Use a installed layout as template instead, the template in the video isn't available.
post, if you run into trouble.

i'm writing on a help-file ver.0.2 (in german), then i'll translate it to english.
but after a apoplectic stroke i got one working hand, only, so this takes time (...and it's football-time ).
follow the instructions on sourceforge, to install the help in the logbook.

best regards,
konni

But then, will the whole notebook be in Italian?
I prefer English...

See, I knew that you had already thought of it.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hi Stefano,

when you select a languange in OpenCPN (Toolbar/options/language), then it's for this program and plugins, only.
No language-change is made to other programs or to the desktop.

BTW i found a bug in maintenance and the in the logbook-dialog
'search the logbook'. it depends to non-english language-selection, only.
the library-function of wxWidgets/parseDate doesn't work properly.
on and on i run into this pitfall....

so non-english users please don't use the time functions in maintenance/service, there's no workaround, sorry.

i've corrected this and ship it together with a new watchlist in version 1.01. when it's ready i post here.
at the moment the help-files have priority.

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello konni,

Pascal (EdelVoilier) has made a discovery. In weather tab, there is a column "Hydrometer". This device measures the density of water! We assume that this is the humidity of the water that should be measured. But then, one must use a "Hygrometer".

Hydrometer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hygrometer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Therefore, in our opinion, this item should be changed and replaced "Hydrometer" by "Hygrometer".

We for our part, amended the French language file on this matter. We also further improved some other translations.

See enclosed a new version of the French language file.

Best regards

Gilletarom

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello konni,

Having found the layout in the source code, I have installed.

After that, I tried export

Now when I go into preferences are in English while the rest of OpenCPN and plug-in is in French

But now when I go into preferences are in English while the rest of OpenCPN and plug-in is in French

Note that the butons "Show equipment" and "Hide equipement" are in english but not other butons !

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Gilletarom,

thanlk's that you correct me. a lifetime i used the wrong word Hydrometer
(humidity = water = hydro). i correct to hygrometer in next version 1.1, because i think everybody knows what is meant.

Quote:
I await your help files to translate and inspire me.
i looked at your webpages and whow! it impressed me !
the english help-file ver. 06 is just up on sourceforge.
please install it (unzipped) in options with the button 'install layouts' select the file and hit OK.
to view the help goto logbook and select 'help' in the layout-dropdown-box,
otherwise if you look in the zipped file only, then you don't see the images.
to edit use the (E)dit-button for the HTML-Editor.
i've just finished the translation (konni-english is always a good laugh), so this is more a draft.

i cannot reprocude the trouble with the languages. this is the way i used:
made a fresh parallel installation of OCPN
made a fresh parallel installation of logbook 1.0
the layouts are installed, so i deleted the data-folder by hand
switched to frensh language
with the 'view'- and the 'export'-button the 'sorry, no layouts'-dialog pops up in frensh - see image -

with the options trouble
have you used the installer or did you copy by hand ?
please use the installer and select the right installation or the right folder.

best regards
konni

If I left clic in a column of a line and then if I right clic, I have some commands in english but, one "Supprimer" is in french..

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

hello Konni,

Sorry, Konni. In the last french language file, there is a mistake.

Here join a corrected french file language.

Moreover, there is an item that is used twice, this is the item "Weather".
The first time it is the name of Used For a tab in the "Logbook" tab.
The second time, It Is Used in a column of the "Weather" tab.

So, in french, a good translation in the first case is "Météo" and in the second case, it should be "Etat du ciel". But this is not possible .... bouhhhhhhh (crying child)
