Make your own charts

Sorry for beeing out of touch, I guess this topic has been covered
many times…

I need to survey an area and produce a private sea chart that can be read by OpenCPN.

In the past there was a cheap software called DrDepth, now disappeared

Are there any open source alternatives?
I want to record nmea streams with lat lon and depths and generate some sort if chart that can be used in OCPN.

Re: Make your own charts

The OpenCPN Voyage Data Recorder as far as I am aware stores the entire NMEA data stream, so if your instruments are sending Lat, Long and depth then extracting them shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Make your own charts

Thanks,
Ok, but how do you go from the nmea stream to a chart that is readable in OCPN?
