Man Overboard Marks dont delete using "Delete All"

When I goto my Route & Mark Manager, then select the Waypoints Tab and then click "Delete All", everything except Man Overboard marks is deleted. Even pressing delete all multiple times they still still remain. I have to delete them one at a time using the regular "Delete" button.

Is this by design or a bug?

Thanks

On Open CPN, I have to put the cursor on the MOB mark, right click, and select delete.

I think this has been discussed before. AFAIK it's deliberate so you can't inadvertantly lose a MOB mark. Probably fine for most users as even one MOB is too many.

Why do you have so many MOBs that it's a problem?

I imported a database off a boat which had a bunch in them. I'm guessing it was accidental.

The bahavior is by design. If you really have a lot of them, the easiest solution usually is to use a text editor on the GPX file (or directly OpenCPN's navobj.xml, which is also a GPX file) and make them not MOB using it's search and replace functionality.
To do that, you simply replace
Code:
<sym>mob</sym>
with for example
Code:
<sym>diamond</sym>

Thank you for this info. I'm not sure why this boat has so many MOB's but I'll go ahead and fix them.

Man Overboard Marks dont delete using "Delete All"

We used to hit the MOB whenever we had a stroke trolling for grouper as they usually stay in one place where there is structure on the bottom.
It was the fastest way to be able to turn around and troll over the same spot.
Maybe they did the same?

That's my guess too. Because there are alot of them in one general area.
