Just made an bootable USB stick with Debian 8.2 and OpenCPN 4.1.925. With the Dutch ENC Charts of the Delta area. No need the use your present HD or the OS on the system. Everything runs from the USB stick.

By any chance do you know if these charts are listed in the Chart Downloader? ...assuming they are free... If they are not listed, (not able to check because my tablet does not have chartdwnldr) it might be helpful to post the URL for downloads to this thread, so that it can be added to the plugin. Thanks.

Dutch ENC Charts of the Delta

Just loaded 4.1.925 and Chartdwnldr does have Netherlands Inland ENC

I have tried this also for the first time in version 4.1.925.

I see week 29 Zeeland and version 27 Inland waterways Netherlands.

If I look at the official site of the Inland waterways Department called Rijkswaterstaat:

ENC - Fairway Information Services

I see week 35 for Zeeland and versie 11-09 Nederland.

The Zeeland (Delta Area) charts are excellent and in a high resolution. See attached image.

However the area around the ports of Rotterdam (Europoort) are stil not covered.

Are you suggesting that the chartdnldr catalogues need to be updated somehow?
Are we missing some chart urls? Thanks.

I think the chase is that Rotterdam and Europort is nor freely available, only published as commercial "pay for" Charts.

Rijkswaterstaat in The Netherlands supplies 2 sets of inland ENC charts:
1. Nederland (=Netherlands complete; usage 5);
2. Zeeland compleet (=Zeeland area only; usage 6 with maximum detail; includes depth soundings).

The latest URL's are presently and respectively:
1. http://www.vaarweginformatie.nl/fdd/...ileId=40856122 (update of 2015.09.11);
2. http://www.vaarweginformatie.nl/fdd/...ileId=81236418 (update of 2015.09.30).

The catalog of OpenCPN shows: http://www.vaarweginformatie.nl/fdd/...ileId=75582120 .

The file ID's probably always change when updated sets are placed on the website.

I have in the past contacted the Rotterdam Havendienst (Harbour Board). They have allready ENC charts available, but only for use by pilots. They will comply to the EC rulings that every EC country must supply ENC charts (for free) for the Inland Waterways by mid 2016.

ENC charts will probably be distributed by the servers of Rijkswaterstaat, that is what they stated.

You see the same in Germany. Charts of the Elbe are available, but not the area of the ports of Hamburg.

Additionally:
For the charts of the Zeeland area the OpenCPN catalog presently does NOT refer to the (official) Rijkswaterstaat site; for which the URL presently is http://www.vaarweginformatie.nl/fdd/...ileId=81236418 .

Instead it refers to the site of WKIKaartenNederland (more or less commercial: only people who donate can download the actual, free inland ENC charts).

Het schiet op. Inmiddels heeft zich een aantal mensen gemeld om de voorlopige (bèta) versie te controleren op onjuiste vertalingen, onjuiste interpretaties en punten en komma's.
