Manually install plugins on Ubantu

OpenGL is giving me many issues on windows so I decided to install on Ubantu.

OpenCPN is installed and runs fine as far as I can tell.
apt install does not find the plugins said to be already there.
I have inspected the package list and only a few plugins are included but not any of the ones I use e.g. weather routing

Anyone know how to download and install the plugins manually on linux?

Re: Manually install plugins on Ubantu

Plugins are still not packaged for all releases of Ubuntu but older packages usually work with more recent releases.

Here is what I do:

I install OpenCPN and available plugins from the stadard depot:
Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu bionic main
in my case. then I switch depot to:
Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/opencpn/opencpn/ubuntu xenial main
where the rest can be found.

If you prefer to install manually, You will find all of them in the OpenCPN repository

Re: Manually install plugins on Ubantu

It worked!!
Thanks much...

Took me a while to figure out that dep wasn't a linux command, but something I had to add to a file, ran the installs and it updated fine.
Now to figure out how to get the charts working. sigh
