Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

I fixed several issues thanks to your reports. It should be better now w.r.t fonts and colors

Packages are here : https://cloudsmith.io/~meteovache_pi...-alpha/groups/

Ronan...

Layout is now OK even on Retina. I would probably stil prefer a darker background.

Downloaded, uninstalled previous version, installed latest and tested in windows 11 Pro ARM64, also set-up as auto-save forecast.

No visible issue and working fine.
Attached txt report of area. (remove .pdf in zip file)

Nohal,

You have already chosen terrible area for the forecast, and the "winter is coming" too.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

@nohal : Agree, the color is not pleasing. I use wxSystemSettings::GetColour(wxSYS_COLOUR_DESKTOP) to get the system background color. It may not be the right one. I will see if I can find a MacOS VMWARE image to test my self on this platform.

@corsair63 : Thanks !

Very useful plugin. Thank you. Here are some screenshots on a high res display. Some developers chose to ignore this type of screen, but the plugin can work much better on high DPI screens, so one suggestion is to perhaps make this an improvement for later?

Can barely see the text, it is so small. We could really use a manual Text Size adjustment, or an automatic DPI scaling of text and icons for Windows.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

I tried it in the Europe where meteo reigns, checking a number of locations around England and France and didn't find more colorful info in the presentation, no matter what model is used. It does not appear to be working as well in my configuration. Perhaps I am missing a preferences setting?

Agree, I will make the font size relative to dpi. Also, I notice the strange blue background color on your screenshot. It confirms that I have an issue in the way I select background and foreground color in the window.

Ronan...

I would go with wxSYS_COLOUR_WINDOW, should give the expected native background color in all color schemes. wxSYS_COLOUR_WINDOWTEXT should give the text color matching it.
This is what I'm using to style the Scintilla control in DashboardSK - https://github.com/nohal/dashboardsk....cpp#L541-L544

Hi Ronan,
Latest version (3h ago) gives a black screen in Windows.
The previous version works perfect!!

I observe the same on my laptop. It will take a bit of time to fix since I need to setup a dev environment under Windows.
Thanks for feedback.

I improved handling of high dpi screens on Linux and Windows but this is no easy tasks since wxWidgets behaves differently on each platform and I have different code for each.
Do you know a plugin which handles correctly high dpi on MacOS so that I can take it as example ?

I tryed to find a recent MacOS on a VMWare image without success...

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

Bonjour Rodemfr,

Test on my PC under windows, with O580, installation a little hard, but which worked the first time.

Question concerning the models available, and in particular the French models Arome, Arpège and Arpège HD.

- How do you get it back?

- Can other data, and in particular currents, be used?

You are French, so I assume that you will do the French translation yourself, but if not, I am at your disposal.

Re: Migrating meteovache_pi to managed plugin scheme

@rgleason : Good news ! It means wxWidgets behaves the same on Linux & MacOS. Concerning the weather models, I plan to add GFS in an unknown future. Note that if you travel to antillas, you have Arome high resolution model which covers every island from Puerto Rico to Grenada.

EDIT : I just realized that you are on Windows, not MacOS...

@Gilletarom : To retrieve Météo France and Deutsher Wetterdienst data I wrote a C++ program which run's on a small server at home. It checks regularly for updates and downloads every new model. I'm already downloading wave models but I don't use it yet in MeteoVache. It might come in the future. I first want to get the current plugin at a sufficient stability level to publish it on the official OpenCPN plugin catalog. I will then consider new models/fetaures.
