MOB AIS Transmitters

Does OpenCPN recognise the new MOB AIS transmitters from the likes of Kannad and can it be programmed to set off an alarm when it sees one?

Some further information

The ITU spec for AIS states:
The AIS SART station should transmit Message 1 and Message 14 using the burst transmissions as described in Annex 9.
The Messages 1 and 14 should use a user ID 970xxyyyy (where xx = manufacturer ID 01 to 99; yyyy = the sequence number 0000 to 9999) and Navigational Status 14.

The Message 14 should have the following content:
When active: SART ACTIVE
Under test: SART TEST

Kannad and McMurdo have both released AIS Personal SART devices that fit inside a lifejacket and send an MOB position report.

Kannad Marine introduces the new Safelink R10 SRS

OpenCPN could lead the way as a system which gave visual and audible warning of a local AIS Personal SART.

I will add to the bugtracker when it finally gives me a password

Re: MOB AIS Transmitters

Yes, OpenCPN recognizes an AIS SART, but only as "normal" AIS. I don't think it is possible to adjust settings so an alarm goes off when a new AIS SART comes within range as a result of a mob incident. So it's no on the second question.
Expect this this change in the future!
There is a feature request for this in the tracker. FS#335 : AIS SART not supported.
OpenCPN needs a special symbol for an AIS SART and an immediate alarm as soon as an AIS SART comes within range.

Kannad has supposedly put a text string into the AIS message stating that it's a mob. Can anyone confirm if this works with OpenCPN?
