Mouse-over / hover for layer data

Hi all,

Was wondering if there's an option to show a pop-up or such when I hover over an object that is in a layer? For instance a layer containing harbour, or bridge info? Kind of like with waypoints in a route.

I tried enabling the option “show contents” for the layers, but nothing shows.
