Navigate to a lat/long rescue

Despite having used OpenCPN for many years now, I still have not figured out how to enter a location that has been read out to me by the Coast Guard or other. If there is a boat that is in danger of sinking and the CG gives the lat/long of that position and requests any available assistance, short of sort of wandering my cursor around and watching the lat/long readout which can take forever, I would like to just be able to enter the lat/long somehow and create a temporary mark. It probably is already there, but I have Googled myself blue in the face and not found out how as yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My apologies to anyone who can point out to me that it was as obvious as the nose on my face. Hey, I'm 78 for crumb sake!

Re: Navigate to a lat/long rescue

Right click anywhere on the chart->Drop Mark. Then, right click on the mark->properties, and enter the Lat/Long.

After that, you can right click on the mark, and "Navigate to this" and you will get a Bearing, and Range to the mark.

Re: Navigate to a lat/long rescue

Perfect answer. Seems an unusual modus operandi, but it works just fine and is a fast way to get there. Thanks very much.

Re: Navigate to a lat/long rescue

You can also do it in this order:
- Right click anywhere on the chart->Drop Mark
- Right click on the mark, and "Navigate to this"
- Double click on the mark, and enter the Lat/Long, and you will get a Bearing, and Range to the entered position.

If I first move the mark, then I have to find it to enable "Navigate to this".
