Re: ncdf plugin for reading NetCDF tidal currents

I see the problem with OpenGL OFF where the colour area is displaced. The problem (I think) is that we are asking the plugin to make a very large number of small images which are then displayed on the screen.

Still no luck in getting the file name to crash O.

Re: ncdf plugin for reading NetCDF tidal currents

Gilletarom,

Have made a few changes to the code to try to fix the force colour rendering with OpenGL OFF.

https://github.com/Rasbats/ncdf_pi/releases

v0.5 has the updated ncdf_pi.dll.

I have just replace V04 by V05.

With OpenGL ON :
V 05 is a few best but not very best than 04.

There is no fluidity when you want to move the map with the mouse. Everything progresses by jump. And, not good for second bug.

With OpenGL OFF :
There is no difference between OpenGL ON and openGL OFF about second bug.

First bug :
Il I click on the name of file
- With OpenGL OFF, no crash. And then I can use correctly the file.
- With OpenGL ON, Crash.

In each case, if I click on "+" instead of name of file, no problem. No crash. I can select a hour.

Re: ncdf plugin for reading NetCDF tidal currents

v0.6 on GitHub.

https://github.com/Rasbats/ncdf_pi/releases/tag/v0.6

When a filename is selected from the tree control OpenCPN does not freeze.

Small improvement in rendering of force colour, but some erratic movement is still present.

Re: ncdf plugin for reading NetCDF tidal currents

Ref #26:

Using CDO ( https://code.zmaw.de ) made a grib from a netCDF file (.nc) downloaded from: DATA.SHOM.FR

SHOM.jpg shows the result. The grib data is displaced south by about 5nm. The grid in the nc file is 'curvilinear', is this the problem? Changed grid type in the nc to 'LatLon' but there was no change.

CDO was used to convert an nc file from Copernicus to grib. This is displayed correctly (CMEMS.jpg).

A Windows compiled version of CDO with jpeg support is contained in the "SHOM.zip" file I have put on GitHub: https://github.com/Rasbats/ncdf_pi/releases/tag/v0.6

Attached is the batch file used to convert nc to grib. This is also in the zip file on GitHub.

Can anyone explain the reason for the displaced SHOM data?
