Re: New Plugin NmeaConvertor

@Hubert,
Now it should work if you use the lat/long from another sentence. Calculating your ownl lat/long does need the multiplying trick.

@Carcode,

Don't know how well this will look in the different platforms and screen resolutions....
Strip the .doc off for the svg. The svg is "grouped".

Re: New Plugin NmeaConvertor

Iḿ trying to get compiling and storing in the cloud working. It looks as if there is a window plugin done, although I can't test as I don't have a windows machine.
https://cloudsmith.io/~dirk-smits/re...2.1.0.19efb86/
This is a format for the upcoming OpenCPN 5.2. But you can unpack the file, look for the 'nmeaconverter_pi.dll' file and replace the exsisting file on your computer with this one.

Pls let me know if it works.

Dirk, Using OpenCPN v5.0.522 almost beta version, downloaded the package and used the import plugin button. It loaded, then installed and seems to work.

Look really good too with a new icon. I am also looking forward to a new exe for windows 10. This because RooieDirk has solved the problem with the leading zeros in the coordinates. Is it possible I receive a copy of the windows 10 exe?

Greetings Arnold

@Arnold,
I'm only building for the new beta of O, however you can replace just the ....dll on your machine.
Remove the .pdf part of the attached file, and replace the one on your machine with this one.
For windows it should be somewhere as in C:\program-files\opencpn\plugins

Thank you. I tested the beta. The good message:
- The leading zeros are back where they are needed and the position is correct again.
- Unfortunately a new problem has been created. Character variables can no longer be processed. The converter gives an error

Re: New Plugin NmeaConvertor

Oops, slip of the pen (keyboard). And I only tested with digits
Corrected and here you find the new version:
https://dl.cloudsmith.io/public/dirk...0.14393.tar.gz
Since your on beta 5.2 now, just use the import plugin button after downloading.

(I hope to be soon so far that it will simple appear in the list)

PS pls uninstall the previous one first.

Sorry for the late response. It must have been the beautiful sailing weather. But the Nmea converter now does what is expected of it. So that's great. Unfortunately, my problem with the magnetic variation has not yet been resolved. Now the magnetic variation through the WMM 1.1 plug-in is well represented in opencpn. The only problem is I can't always get it out. It is correctly sent out by ECRMC. However, this only works if a route is active.
The question is whether it is possible to read a program variable such as "magnetic variation" from opencpn and use it in the NMEA converter.
Greetings Arnod

Re: New Plugin NmeaConvertor

I am using the latest version of opencpn with openplotter. I'm trying to convert my water temp from c to f. When I go to Preferences > New I type in $YXMTW, 9/5*$YXMTW1 + 32, F

When I get to typing the second dollar sign it closes open cpn. If I cut and paste it in I can press the first ok. It then it locks up. What is going on?

I have all the latest updates. And opencpn reads the sensor inputs fine.

Any ideas why I can not use nmea converter plugin?

Re: New Plugin NmeaConvertor

Hello,

With version 1.2 installed in test on OpenCPN 5.1.612 on Win10, I can't get the true wind with the following formula:

[$XXMWV,$IIMWV1+acos((sqr($IIMWV3)+sqr($GPRMC7)+sqr ($IIMWV3)-2*$GPRMC7*$IIMWV3*cos($IIMWV1*3.14159265/180)-sqr($GPRMC7))/(2*sqrt(sqr($GPRMC7)+sqr($IIMWV3)-2*$GPRMC7*cos($IIMWV1*3.14159265/180))*$IIMWV3)),T,sqrt(sqr($GPRMC7)+SQR($IIMWV3)-2*$GPRMC7*$IIMWV3*cos($IIMWV1*3.14159265/180)),N,A]

This formula works perfectly with version 1.0 on OpenCPN 5.0 ...

Re: New Plugin NmeaConvertor

This is a nema example that is working with dashboard.

If you have to add pitch to get it working just use fake values.
Note the use of ROLL instead of HEEL
