Should I be building from https://github.com/libusb/libusb
to have the most current version?
Does it work with Windows 10 too?

Libusb-1.0.20 is dated

Sorry for my long absence, I been travelling.
Libusb has been around since "Moby Dick was a minnow", so just about any libusb1.0 will work with these dongles, as they are not very complicated.

Thanks,

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

So I have everything set up and I can get the plugin to start the auto calibrate function but whenever I click into it I get a popup every minute or so that reads "Cannot Open:". Anyone else experience this? Is it just because I'm currently land locked so there are no AIS targets? (Rasberry pi 3, raspbian)

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

Did you try running rtl_ais outside O? It should run fine. ''Cannot open'' may be just nothing there in the path.

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

I have the same problem, on the raspberry pi 2:

I can run rtl_fm outside of opencpn, but when I want to auto-calibrate within the plugin, it tells me "failed to open:" and the nothing. So i guess the plugin does not know where to look for rtl_fm...?

thanks for your help,

mischa

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

If anybody wants to use this setup on a Mac, I have put together some notes from today's afternoon experiment with rtl_ais at https://github.com/nohal/OpenCPN/wik...R-AIS-on-macOS
The $6 blue dongle from HK is picking up targets from up to 10 miles away using the tiny antenna that came with it laying on my table - seems quite a lot of fun for the money...

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

Hello everyone
Sorry for my mistakes in English I use google translation

I have a small problem of its on an add-on of opencpn (ais) more precisely rtl_fm
If someone had a search track I can not find any more.
running Linux 16 LTE and I do not have sound in VHF audio or FM audio both use rtl_fm
Executed: rtl_fm -r 12k -s 12k -f 156.4M -l 1 Executed: aplay -r 12k -f S16_le -t raw -c 1
But if I use rtl_fm under a terminal with the command:
Rtl_fm -f 105.5M -M fm -s 170k -A fast -r 32k -l 0 -E deemp | play -r 32k -t raw -e s -b 16 -c 1 -V1 -
It's correct!
Has anyone ever had this problem?

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

How did you determine these options though? The plugin uses the options that works for me (and other people) so I am confused why you need special options.

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

I am confused for my explanations.(explication)

(Translator traitor!)

sorry

I resume from the beginning :

I have no sound in rtlsdr plugin for opencpn !

i running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (64bits).

Do you have a search trail? (Solution?).(Research Track)

Knowing that the sound works on all other soft.

Re: New rtlsdr Plugin

Hello

I answer to myself to close my problem.
I'm using Xenial Xerux 16.04

I installed the V4.5 (build) and now the sound works !!!
So uninstallation of V4.5 (I like to understand.; =))
And new V4.04 load (with PPA)

Well I'm back in opencpn 4.04 under Xenial Xerux 16.04 and the sound works!

The changes compared to my v1 4.04 is the addition of: -dev libportaudio2 portaudio19
Normally present original xenial !? but I think not claim with PPA, but that I installed to make my buid V4.5!

So for me all is ok (for now); =)

see you
