Find it in:
Opencpn Beta - File Thingie rguser, rgpass
Directory: Plugins-Win-Opencpn-3.3.604

Looks almost the same to me, but the alarms are probably working better.
Let us know what you find out!
EeePC, XP., .814

The landfall alarm works OK.

Neither the under speed nor GPS alarms work. Indication is 'n/a'.

Have tried with GPS at 4800 and AIS (including position info)) at 38400.

Re: New Watchman Plugin

Sean or Rick or et.al
In Git yesterday there was a, for me, new watchman. Most likely the same as in Terry's post above, #91. I compiled it and there is an appreciated function "Repeat Alarm after XX sec." If my assumptions are correct the function should be to repeat the alarm sounding every XX second if don't respond? If that's the desired function I didn't get it to work.
I was running the "Dead men" alarm. When the dead man time elapsed the time count down field changed colour. First from green to red and the sound played. Then to light brown after the XX seconds but no repeated soundings.
Anyone else got it working?? (WinXP)

Re: New Watchman Plugin

Sean has updated Watchman significantly and it needs testing now.
The plugin has been renamed to Watchdog and it now has most of the alarms we were considering and many more settings and controls.

It does need testing so please exercise it. (Sean, in my brief testing I got opencpn bomb outs when I first went into the depth and wind alarms. I do not know if it is because there was no data stream of those types...in my setup at the time I was trying watchdog.

Please take the *.doc of and try in the new Opencpn Beta 3.3.1303

Re: New Watchman Plugin

Rick...
Thanks for the file.
Just a brief test on Win32 no OpenGL: (See attached screen dump)
>There is no Deadman listing in the "Status window" (called "Watch dog")
>There are no AIS preferences although "Last AIS sentence" is shown in the status Window.
>I see no difference with or without "Graphical overlay display"

Re: New Watchman Plugin

We need to run this in Debug mode and provide output files to Sean.

Re: New Watchman Plugin

Well, I just git fetched the next update from Sean and recompiled and ran in MSVC++ debug with Voyage Data Recorder Plugin using jonskie_GpsOnly-2011.08.26.nmea (found on O beta file thingie) andd enabled the nmea display, then opened and set up the plugin. It seemed like the alarms were working and there were no bombouts in debug.

The last two alarms were disabled (depth and wind) for the time being. Also Sean has initialized all the alarms to be disabled at the start.

Give it a try please. Take the doc off and put in your plugins dir using Opencpn3.3.1303. (I've uploaded the Opencpn3.3.1303 exe if you want to update your Opencpn 3.3.1704. See O beta File thingie)

Yes, this is a different file and compile.

I made a bug which only occurs depending on the order the static contructors get called which differs depending on system. I think it is fixed simply now.

Re: New Watchman Plugin

Here is the new version it seems to work pretty darn well. Depth and Speed are not enabled. Sean needs sensors for those to test his plugin. Does anyone have some they can donate???? -Contact Sean. It will complete WatchDog.

Re: New Watchman Plugin

Baikal, specifically whats wrong with it? It seemed to work for me, when the boat moved out of zone, the alarm came on.
