Re: New waypoint properties implementation

Yes,I soon found out how to use the edit button thanks, but all my other points are still valid I'm afraid, in Vista.

Most important,I can not access the POI's as the 'Additional information' line/link just isn't there.

One thing though,a test POI created with this new version reads perfectly in the v. 2.6, but NOT in the new version.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with Vista for the moment, far too many programs I don't have backups for and have yet to do.

Re: New waypoint properties implementation

@Gilletarom yes, same here. I tried as you describe, delete from right click. I lost just two links..AND the same garble overwrite. One of them is the link that should not have been deleted.
I'll export the gpx and see....but no, I still have both links written in the xported gpx and, it was a temporary phenomenom. I Re-opened the waypoint properties and there are two links (all correct)..it was .some kind of ghost in graphics?

Re: New waypoint properties implementation

sinbad, yes, the "right click on waypoint and see the Extra Info " line IS gone. I was missing it too.
edit added: It's so far needing to open the properties dialogue to get at your links. But Nohal didn't promise us much.

To be fair, my bros has Vista and likes it fine on his great big fancy tower with multimedia and all that.

Re: New waypoint properties implementation

Thomas, Tore...
Could either of you try to pinpoint the cause of the delay in the displaying of the dialog? I'm a bit confused as I can't make it take more than a fraction of a second even on the slowest machine I have here with thousands of navobjects in layers and my 10MB testing navobj.xml. At least please try to start without any layers and navobjects and tell me if the problem is still there for you or not.
The other problems seem reproducible, so will hopefully be fixed in the next iteration.

Thanks everybody for the help

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel

It's not the layers but the "UserIcons" that is the problem.
When I rename that directory, I get about ½sec response time.

I have quite a few icons in the UserIcons directory, including subdirectories.

I just took a snapshot of the back trace while I was waiting for the dialog to pop up. I don't know if it helps....?

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

The box takes around 10 seconds to open in Vista...
Also with no POI's activated/visible in Route manager.
Trying to delete iterms in the layers area of the Route manager crashes OCPN
I'm in Sao Paulo for the next 3 days so unable to help much.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Hello Pavel,

Not very important but :

I use the tab "Extended" and I unclick the checkbox. Then I click "Ok" .

But the waypoint do not desappear of the chart. It is necessairy to move the chart to the waypoint disappears. This is a problem of redrawing

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Hello Pavel,

Other bug :

See the screen copy. You can see that the list of different icons is dipalayed twice. The first is "Empty" and when we down, there is another "Empty", and so on.

N.B.: I have no folder "UserIcons"

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Hola!
Refreshed build at http://opencpn.xtr.cz/opencpn.exe and source on github. Most of the problems observed with yesterday's build should be fixed.
Please test especially opening of the local links on various Windows versions - they seem to behave pretty randomly based on version and your local settings, but probably never according to any standard I've ever seen.
The remaining issues (I know about them, no need to report again ):
  • Crash when deleting a navobject in routemenager after the WP properties dialog was used
  • First time you open the dialog, it still takes unpleasantly long to populate the icon combo box if you have a lot of user icons. The consequent invocations are instant.

+1

Just to show the use of the description tab.
An interactive pilot is now possible.
Illustrating here with an excerpt from Stephen J Pavlidis guides for the Abacos.
