Pavel..

The SpotWalla guy's name is Jason and his email address is:support@spotwalla.com

The SPOT Globalstar polling link to Paul's boat s.y. G'DAY II is:
http://share.findmespot.com/messageS...mpleteXml=true

He is staying put in Havana until his homeward journey in a couple of weeks so you will not catch any data as only recent (7days) data is polled with this link.
Jason will tell you how to collect older data I am sure.

Here is his present location: http://spotwalla.com/tripViewer.php?...44f144d6d582cc

See attached user example from the POI interface.

Stop complaining about the snow,I'd love some right now,38C here today and Carneval has started with a helluva noise.....

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

If you are not familiar with .xml messages, you can see a detailed explanation here:
XML Examples

Using a URL command with the SPOT identification code, you can poll the last 7 days SPOT data in .xml format from the SPOT Globalstar database.

The trick is to convert it for display in OCPN like an AIS message. (NMEA)

I've added/updated many of my group .gxp POI files and added an interesting Antarctica.gpx file. 4shared folder - POI.gpx FILES

Pavel..

Here is a sample SPOT .xml track from a road trip I took earlier to Sao Paulo.
It needs converting to NMEA similar to AIS messages.
The 'ship icon' needs to be different from that of AIS.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Seems we have a lot of comedians here, but their jokes are so lame,no one's laughing.

If you notice the messages were specifically addressed to Pavel as supplementary information for an impending project, which does not require a reply. Unfortunately I don't have his email, hence the monologue.

Suggest you try your humour on another stage, try your local kindergarten!

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

Pavel..

I was trying for the first time to add a local link to a POI but I receive error message. Is the local link ONLY for html links or can it also execute programs?
If so,I think the option to execute files should also be added.

Re: New Waypoint Properties Implementation

sinbad,
This is in XP. Don't know about modern stuff...
but you can link to and start exes.. I just made this by using the Edit,Local file... "file:/C:/Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 2/PhotoshopElements.exe" by browsing to it and it works fine...

you can also run command lines to start programs, so they start in particular ways... Make a ".bat" file and link to it, but you will have the cmd window showing up too, then.

PS Note to Pavel...you don't need the "Local Links Open in browser" note, because they open in registered programs, not the browser.
