No GPS/AIS Connect with Betas

I have the latest beta but this latest symptom seems to have occurred since I loaded the last Beta. I have GPS and AIS data being fed via a Shipmodul Bluetooth mux. The output manifests itself as COM12 on my W7 laptop. This configuraqtion is working fine in all respects via PolarView but for some reason it is not on OpenCPN. For OpenCPN I had to type COM12 in to the COM port dialogue as OpenCPN didn't offer COM12 up in the drop down. Any immediate/obvious reasons why I can no longer connect? Nothing else is using that port.

1) did you restart your computer after testing with polarview ?

2) you can change your comport settings in System/hardware/devicemanager
so that it becomes comport 6 for example

We need more info:

1. are AIS and GPS both coming muxed thru the same port?
2. If you type COM12 in the Toolbox->AIS tab, and set Toolbox->GPS for "AIS Shared", does it work?
3. Have a look at the log file. There will be some entries relating to port opening and closing. Copy and paste the relevant entries for analysis here, please.

I used xport to switch the port and the problem resolved. Sorry guys, I forgot to close my thread. I know it doesn't explain the original prob.
