Do you have a VDR file perchance?

I use GPSgate. I installed VDR to look at this. But for me its not a practical way to record NMEA in my day to day sailing. By the way is there a Linux version?

The PDF versions do not work because the is a hidden \n in there that has been translated to a space. That space will not exist in Noel's original stream.

Are you using openplotter on the Pi? It sets system time to gps time.

Thanks; I have my own versions of that for reading and plotting my voyage data.



Generally as I always have a W10 machine available I play back NMEA logs with GPSGate via UDP, TCP or virtual com ports or sometimes all of those at the same time.



The VDR plugin had the advantage in this case that it records the internal messages between the "Navigate to here" function in OCPN and the Dashboard because these do not appear on the external streams or even in the NMEA debug window. T-Dan's Python script, my own scripts or GPSGate are blind to any of that internal comms so not much use.
