not seeing OPENCPN Bathymetric data on O-charts

I've bought and loaded oeSENC: Caribbean 2022, O-Charts for the Caribbean. But no matter how much I zoom in, I don't see any depth. I'm new to this software.

You need to select depth in your chart settings

Re: not seeing OPENCPN Bathymetric data on O-charts

Are you sure what you are looking at are the o-charts vector charts?
What I see on your screenshot looks very much like the OpenSeaMap KAPs to me (Which are completely unusable and do not contain any depth info).

And FWIW the Caribbean oeSENC vector chart set (https://o-charts.org/shop/en/oesenc/36-crb.html) does not contain any detailed charts for Exumas and Bahamas (Those are covered by https://o-charts.org/shop/en/oernc/4...ts-exumas.html, https://o-charts.org/shop/en/oernc/4...r-bahamas.html and https://o-charts.org/shop/en/oernc/4...r-bahamas.html)

I think Nohal nailed it. You may have the o-charts installed on your system but it appears you have not selected them. To view vector charts you need to select one of the green buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Re: not seeing OPENCPN Bathymetric data on O-charts

There are no large scale charts for Bahamas in the oeSENC set. The recommended chart material are the Explorer Charts for Bahamas, raster charts.
First oeSENC, that's an overview charts. Second some details from the RNC.

Re: not seeing OPENCPN Bathymetric data on O-charts

Yes, Nohai for the win. Got together with some other OPENCPN users and see that the O-charts don't have detail for the Bahamas, and yep, I had selected KAP charts. I'm glad to hear you say they are useless, as that does appear to be the case!!! I was going nuts trying to figure out how a nautical chart without apparent depth information could possibly be used.

Re: not seeing OPENCPN Bathymetric data on O-charts

Just to be absolutely clear:

- o-charts do have details for Bahamas in the oeRNC sets I linked above, just not in the oeSENC set you bought.

- KAP charts in general are of course very useful, just the OpenSeaMap ones you were looking at are useless.

I found that o-charts Carribean 2022 has adequate detail when I downloaded them.

Right, but not for the Bahamas. There the only options are the Explorer Charts (raster), as well available at o-charts.org
