I do not know which thread, but I've put a short post on the NV-Verlag charts and also those of VisitMyHarbour. Already have things in French, I have already said that I think I can adapt, in English, the content of the French website "opencpn.shoreline.fr"

I asked someone to explain to me how I should go about putting all that in the website "opencpn.org". It's just gone unanswered.

As I am doing now updating my French website for the future version 4.2, and I also work with inskape for Jean Pierre on the Grib plugin, I forgot to raise my question.

So please how do I do?
Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: NV-charts file extension...

Ah, Gille..
This is a big burden for you. I will show you how (for the future) and also suggest that you can point me to a link, and I will gladly do it.

Beta Dev Change log
We check for items that affect the User Manual
Update the User Manual As we check each item, we record by editing this.
How to Edit the User Manual Here is how to edit. -Work in progress. I just did it.

Now if you could point me to the page/pages on your website, I will try to translate for NVcharts Plugin on opencpn.org. Thank you! Will leave a credit and link.

.....
Yes, Yes. But I must do it. I'll be late compared to the release of version 4.2 but "never mind"

Re: NV-charts file extension...

bcn, Gilletarom...

And to add confusion, I got an email once from NV that said:

Code:
Also, I would appreciate if you pay attention to our brand and mention “nv-charts” instead of NV Digital Verlag.
So...

Re: NV-charts file extension...

I am (slowly) figuring things out. I got a reply from Support at NVcharts and they directed me to this website: Chart Download

Then you can find the charts that you want to download. You have to do it by year of release and I didn't know that so I just stepped down through the years until I found the chartkit that I wanted. I found the Windward Islands kit but couldn't find the Leeward Islands kit that I also purchased. I sent a reply email to nvcharts asking about that set of charts and expect to hear back from them soon.

Anyway, you enter the charts that you want to download and click on the download button and they will load to your computer as an exe file. (I'm on a PC) When you run the exe file it will ask for your serial numbers, name and email and then it will install the charts. They recommend saving them in C:Chartkit/BSB. That's where I installed and then pointed Opencpn to that subdirectory and everything seems to work.

I'd write up something quick but we are getting ready to cruise and are up to our ass in alligators but once we get going I will probably have more time.

Bill

Re: NV-charts file extension...

Hi,
thanks both of you for the documentation.
I think there just one point that is unclear for a beginner like me.

you have to download your charts from
Chart Download
as Bill_E has indicated and execute the file.
I had download the chart through the nav software and it's not working.

Thank you,
Wenc
