NZ Charts

For an OpenCPN newbie, I know this will be very straightforward to the most experienced users. But, I have used the Download tab to get NZ charts, released 24.11.20.

I cannot see them when I go back to the map display - I have exited and restarted, but no success.

Now I have read about the S-63 charts.

Which ones are the best to use?
Why do I need the S-63 charts when I have downloaded a NZ chart file?
How do I get them to display?

Very basic questions - if there is a thread already on this, could I be pointed that way.

Everything you need is documented in the manual.
There are quite a dew threads about this subject on this forum as well. Use the "Search" button above!

As you already have downloaded the NZ raster-charts there is no need to look at the S63 charts. It's a question of the general difference between raster and vector charts. Personal preference plays big role.
The NZ raster-charts are very good. Get them working first!
