O-Charts not coming up

I've recently installed Open CPN on my MacBook Air and paid for and downloaded the O-Charts for my area of interest. However when I open the app all I get is a rough map of the world with no charts. Ive zoomed in to my area (Aust. and NZ) but still no chart detail. Obviously theres a button somewhere that I should be pressing to activate the charts but I don't know where it is.
Can anyone help? Please answer in laymans language - I'm a sailor, not a computer programmer!

Did you read the manual at https://o-charts.org/manuals/?lng=en?
Did you instal the o-charts plugin?
Did you register your system with o-charts?
Did you download the charts?

Does the o-charts tab look like this (With unexpired AUS chart set of course)?

Does the chart files tab look like this (Of course with paths relevant to your system and chart set)?
If you answered yes to both, do you see something in the chart bar on the bottom of the screen when looking at Australian coast and the green chart outlines (which you might have to activate in the canvas hamburger menu depending on your settings)?

If your answer is no, we would like to have a look at your logfile (Link to it is on the About dialog invoked by clicking the icon with a question mark in circle on the main toolbar)

Yes to the first two questions.

My screen does not look like the one you have shown me. Its simply a green map of Aus and NZ with a bunch of icons scattered around the coast (I dont know what thwy are or what they mean) There is nothing at the bottom pf the screen Except the lat and lon of my position which it is getting from my network connection (I have not attached a GPS yet). Ive taken a screen shot but dont know how to paste it into this thread

Please post the logfile, tells us more than a picture. We are interested only in the part from your last session, which means part after the last occurence of

To attach a file use the "paper clip" - select the file and upload it.

Ive tried to copy and paste the latest entries in the log but it wont send because there are too many characters in the post. In a previous reply you suggested clicking on the paperclip and posting the log. Where is the paperclip?

I think I have discovered what the problem is. The charts I have downloaded are gone from the directory they were assigned to during the download. Can anyone help me by walking me through what I need to do to reinstate the charts in the correct directory?

The "paper clip" is a function of the forum, not OpenCPN. When you quote a message you will find it - just observe the screen shot I've attached twice previously.
