Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

Hi,

First issue:
========
I found in new OpenCPN 2.6.1705 that with CM93 map, F5 doesn't works correctly (only [dim/change colors] the Toolbar + GPS icon + bottom chart / location bar).

I have checked the same with OpenCPN 2.5.0 with the same CM93 map and it's works correctly!

Second issue:
===========
If you try to dim with F6 with new OpenCPN 2.6.1705 and also with 2.5.0 it's works correctly until you minimized OpenCPN window and back maximized, if you try to dim again after min/max you will see only small dark square like I've attached.

If you dim to some value and after that min/max OpenCPN window you will also see the same behavior.

Sorry,

I forgot to say that I try this today on Win7.
But second issue I also see on WinXP with OpenCPN 2.5.0 during the last trip from Ushuaia to Antarctica and back in Feb/Mar this year on s/y "Selma Expedition"

Best regards,

Kubek

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

will try tomorrow again but no problem like yours at the moment.
What about OpenGL checked or not? 32 or 64bit?
(tried again right now)

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

Win7-64bit, WinXP-32bit

In both "second issues" I noticed that I used ONLY external LCD monitors connected to laptops. (laptop was "closed" - didn't use main display - ONLY external)

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

...It seems to be a GL thing--- working fine for me on xp when GL is ON but I get the same weirdeness as described with OpenGL OFF. I will post on the 1705 thread...

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

Hi,

If I turn ON OpenGL in Toolbox both problems disappear.

Hi, I've seen very something similar* as this issue, but for me the shaded box reaches all the way down to the bottom taskbar; happened on 32bit Windows XP + 2.5.0; desktop tower case + lcd monitor. Next time I'm out & doing the night watch I'll try to find the OpenGL option & see if that helps.

cheers,

ps- is there a flyspray ticket or thread we should be looking at?

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

...today, mine looks like this:

Name:	Clipboard01.png
Views:	441
Size:	71.4 KB
ID:	40924

but the shaded window size has changed (god-knows-how) since I started playing with it...,edit>it was smaller-800x600 before!
but then too, I am running non-installed portable versions of the betas and I am not installing anything- just copying from extractions of the installation file, so any guarantee is voided!

I looked in flyspray because I too recall a similar problem but it wasn't about openGL or the "minimise" of Kubek's discovery ?

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

we run other software in the background (xtides port, seasurface temperature and salinity loggers, ...) so do use min/max buttons quite regularly maybe the dimming is just on the un-maximized size of the window, shifted to the top left of the screen? Worth a look...

Re: ocpn does not go out of night mode

Hi there...

This F6 bug resolved for next Beta. Problem was that the dimmer "Curtain" size was not being always set properly.

Anyone having trouble with F5 on cm93? Kubek?

Thanks
Dave
